Families!
So one of the reasons I was quite busy this last season was the amount of groups I was working with. Family photography does tend to pick up in the fall and sometimes goes right through to Christmas (or, in this case, Christmas eve!).
Businesses are like families. Families you can abandon every day.
Brandi and her family were a group I got to work with earlier in the fall on a beautiful night that was neither too hot not too cold. It was a gorgeous night for shooting and I was happy to hear from Brandi as I had done some business portraits for her earlier in the year. Not all of my clients realize that I do different types of photography. While there are some genres of photography I really don’t do (weddings and newborns come to mind), in a market like Regina, it’s really helpful to have more than one type in your wheelhouse.
I also got a chance to go out to Elbow for a small family event of my (sometimes) assistant Leo. The family invited myself and my man to come for the day, planning on the photos around sunset, and even though it was a bit later in the summer, we actually got treated to some fireworks as the Canada Day celebrations in the area had been delayed due to the dry season. It was a very pleasant way to get some work and relaxation into a weekend.
