Imagine being WESKed away...
When I first started my business, people suggested that joining local networking groups was a good way to help build business skills (that were sorely lacking) and start getting used to talking to strangers, which is another essential skill when it comes to building a business. One of the first such groups I joined was the Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan (WESK). With business advisors, opportunities to apply for financing and also increasing networking opportunities, I began to take a few classes that they offered as well as joined a couple of mentoring circles with them and gradually the people I've met through them have been a wealth of information and encouragement through the years.
It's been a wonderful organization to be a part of and I had the opportunity to photograph their annual convention and gala event last week at Regina's DoubleTree Hotel.
